They were much of muchness in this, just about usual G2 level. The 3rd got the run of things to a degree up front and the winner was a bit more taking than the bare result might imply.
CONVERGENT (113+ here, 110 previously) has had just 6 starts and improved with each one, clearly smart and likely capable of a bit better still. He disputed 3rd early and travelled well into the home straight, making his effort 350m out then harder ridden and getting up close home. He gives the impression he may be similarly effective at 10f/2000m given a pace to aim at.
DUBAI HONOUR (112 here, 116 previously) was not quite at his best on his 2nd run since a mid-season break (had run well at Baden Baden on the first of them), a bit free in 2nd with the pace quite steady, asked for more 450m out and not responding immediately before running on well at the death, all but disputing the lead with 50m to go. He is likely to continue to be a significant player on the global stage for a while yet.
YELLOW JERSEY (112 here, 109+ previously) lost his unbeaten record but no standing otherwise on what was his first go in Group company, dictating the pace under a canny ride, quickening 500m out and a length or 2 up until overhauled late in the day. There could be more to come from him.
BAY CITY ROLLER (110 here, 114 previously) was a bit below his previous form without being discredited, held up and unable to quicken in what became something of a test of late speed.
JUNKO (110 here, 114 previously) is probably not quite as good as he once was, running respectably in tracking the pace then failing to quicken.
PATH OF SOLDIER (109 here, 104 previously)
CASAPUEBLO (108 here, 109 previously)
