The final Group race for juveniles of the Irish turf season, the pace was strong with only the winner having a finishing speed percentage higher than 100%. She came from behind to cause a shock, as did the third, the runner-up doing well to last as long as she did having forced a strong gallop.

CHATTERING CLASSES was a maiden coming into this, but her last run had come off a break, and she looked to find Thurles too sharp. The combination of a more galloping track, a strong pace and slower ground suited her and having come under pressure in rear at the two-furlong point, she responded well to lead 100 yards from home. Further again will suit, with the Salsabil Stakes at Navan next spring mentioned as a target.

THE GOOD WIFE took a strong hold and made the running, tactics that often work well on the round mile here, and she emerged with plenty of credit despite being beaten, the two that raced up with her finishing out of the frame. She does not want to be going any further than a mile now and looks to have the pace for shorter.

BLONDE OVER BLUE had disappointed since her maiden win at Leopardstown in June on soft ground, but a return to that type of surface suited as she ran her best race since, for all that she was running on past beaten horses late.

ISLE OF CAPRI was given a positive ride before being left behind by the runner-up from three furlongs out and should be suited by middle distances next year.

GOLDEN RING dwelt a little form the widest stall and had to work to get forward from her position. Like Isle Of Capri, she was left behind by the second in the straight and should enjoy further as a three-year-old.

CROSS OF STARS was up against it on just her second start but built up some useful experience, keeping on from off the pace.

APOLLO'S COMET was a little better than the form. She got bumped then squeezed out at the stalls and had to come from a long way back, keeping on steadily from rear. Further should suit next year.

ADMIRED BEAUTY was making a quick return having run at Leopardstown three days ago but does not seem up to this level anyway.

BELLESQUE was wearing cheekpieces for the first time and is not up to this level.

MAIRE RUA was the form pick based on her Listed win last time but failed to come close to that level on the slowest ground she has run on. She took a strong hold and was left behind in the final two furlongs before being reported as blowing hard. The mile should not have been a problem for her on previous evidence.

MAGNA VICTORIAwas never involved.
